Your Rehearsal

rehearsal 1 Cameron Ingalls

Rehearsals can be fun and fast, or not. It all depends on who is in charge. Most of us have been to a slow, dragging rehearsal. Some of us have taken part in fun, quick, easy, stress free rehearsals that got everyone out of the church on time. These are not so rare, and below, you’ll find out how to have a fast one.

It’s great fun to meet and talk with everyone who will be in your wedding when they arrive at the church. There are ways to help manage your time on this important night, so the visiting doesn’t make you late to your rehearsal dinner. One way is to assign someone to clap their hands and interrupt all the conversations to say, “Let’s get started!” (Usually a coordinator will do this without being asked.) Another way, somewhat sneaky, is to tell the officiant, musician, etc., to be at the church at 6:30 pm (for example), but tell your family to be there before 6:00 pm. Greet, hug and talk for a half hour, then rehearse.

When you get started, you can make everything go very smoothly and be sure everyone knows exactly what to do, and when and where to do it.
