Receptions That FlowSo, how do you organize a reception that everyone will enjoy, including even your Great Aunt from Michigan? Easy … Once things get started, keep them moving! Too simplistic? Not at all! the best party planners around will tell you: “Keep it simple. Keep it fun. Keep it moving!” You’ll enter the reception to much excitement. Hug, talk, powder your nose, and greet a few folks, and then either be seated at your head table for the meal to be served, or start the buffet line. Everyone will enjoy their food, and just as you are finishing, do your toasts: Best Man, Dad, and so forth. Go from the toast to the cake cutting, slice it and enjoy the ceremony, and then sweep dramatically into your first dances. You can then open the dance floor to everyone, and you can talk and greet everyone at your leisure, go somewhere for photos, or whatever you want to do for awhile. Your bouquet toss can be done later on, at any point in the celebration. If you are also doing a garter toss, it can be thrown in after the bouquet toss or later. The real secret is to realize that you can generate excitement by just doing things for people to watch, and then let them party on the dance floor!
