Fitzpatrick Studios The first thing to do when planning your reception festivities is to decide what kind of party you want it to be. Do you want a quiet, intimate gathering where everyone can just talk and enjoy each other’s company in a quiet way? Or, at the other end of the spectrum, do you want a crazy bash with everyone dancing and letting their hair ‘way down? It’s your choice! The band, DJ, or other entertainment you choose will create, or at least contribute to the tone of your reception party. A harpist during luncheon or dinner will provide a quiet time when your guests can enjoy their meal. Or, a mariachi band might perfectly complement a Mexican buffet. For traditional Spanish food, you can engage a flamenco guitarist. After dinner is when the “real”fun begins. At that point, you’ll want to thank the harpist or fingerstyle guitarist and be ready to get down with an excellent DJ or band. So at that point, the question becomes: Which do you want?
