Be The Bride You Want To See!

Want to know something that most photographers won’t tell you? Here it is: They can’t make you be the Bride you want to see in your wedding photos. Only you can do that.

You have to be the Bride you want to see.

A little story from the past. It was during the first year of this magazine’s publication, when I was a photographer on the Central Coast.

My wife and I were hired by a couple to photograph their wedding day. In the last interview, a week before the big day, the bride said to me: “We want lots of really romantic pictures, and I’ll be really close to my husband all through it (the reception), so just be ready!” No problem, I thought. If she’s willing and available, I can get the romantic look.

Unfortunately, the young lady was too nervous to eat before her reception, and she had a glass of champagne before she ate dinner. And, another. And, another. I mentioned to her that she might not want to drink before she ate, and she was fully within her rights telling me to mind my own business. Her behavior and her appearance both went downhill. Fast.
